Resort 2011 Runway Trends

The new hues and patterns for next year's fashion impressed and surprised me.

Leather shorts
From left to right: Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony; Alexander Wang; Adam

Not so sure about Chloe's leather shorts. The flap on the front looks hideous and see it's purpose.
Wang's black shorts are eye-catching and unique. It has the illusion of a skirt which definitely makes it stand out.
I love the Adam shorts!!! I wanna own a pair. What a fresh take on shorts. I would have liked to see the outfit dressed up with necklaces or bracelets but when I own a pair I will do that task myself. ;)

Citrine Hues

From left to right: Versace; Calvin Klein; Max Azria

Not enthused with the Versace look. It would appear better if the jacket didn't match the pants. The color is cool but the outfit is not new or fresh.
I expect more from Calvin Klein as well. I have never seen something so plain on the runway in my life. Quite boring.
Max Azria's dress is beautiful but that ugly fanny pack is overshadowing it. A brown woven belt would have accentuated the dress way better. Since when are fanny packs back in fashion? Seriously we're going back to those? Ick.

Garden Florals
From left to right: Stella McCartney; Valentino; Jason Wu

Way too much flower power going on in McCartney's garden inspired blazer and shorts. Not pleasing to the eye. If you have to go with floral, choose more pleasant colors than orange and stick with one piece covered with flowers.
I don't think Valentino's blazer+skirt+top= gorgeous. This outfit does not flatter this woman nor would it any other woman in the world. Frumpyyyy.
Finally thank you Jason Wu!!!! You created a stunning masterpiece. It's like a flip book where the photo continues it's story. Love it!

Polka Dots
From left to right: Marc Jacobs; Prada; Sonia Rykiel

Cute party frock by Marc Jacobs! Wish the revealing stomach area was covered but otherwise very sophisticated look!
It would be nice to see the front of the Prada dress. The accessories definitely glam up the dress. Reminds of me of a woman in the 1950's going to a tea party.
Sonia Rykiel's pink polk dot dress does not look all that great. Can't figure out what exactly is wrong with it. The bow on the hip definitely needs to go.

Well hope everyone is enjoying their summer :)

Bye fashobs,
Miss K
